Kosher gas

As if gas wasn't expensive enough already.

Comments:
Just wait till the Hisachdus starts certifying gas what the price will be!!

Although there is no hashgacha on actual gas, there is, however, a hashgacha on the largest producer of gas....chulent!

Now, let's get frummie serious, here.

Clearly, gas needs supervision for Passover. Just like one cannot derive benefit from chametz on Pesach from unusual things, like dog food, if there is chametz somehow in the gas...well there you go...

Don't laugh. There is a problem with today's gas with 10% ethanol.

Since chometz is ossur b'hanahah, it is a problem.

This past year, I ran my tank until almost empty a few days before Yom Tov, then filled up at the airport with Av Gas that contained no ethanol. It costs more, but avoids the problem.

I then drove until I nearly used up this new "kosher" gas, and refueled again.

One can find this gas at the small airports, where you can find a friendly FBO who will simply fill you up as if you were a plane.

Sepharadim may be able to be more maykill, as the rove of ethanol is kitnius rather than actual chometz, but some are machmir since some ethanol is grain based.

So, as silly as it sounds, WE DO NEED KOSHER FOR PESACH GASONLINE.

By far, this is the stupidist thing I have ever heard!! What will come next, hasgocho on mayim achronim?? When will it ever end???? You are all chosid shotahs!!
Be a mentch first then you can be as frum as you want..

Don't be silly, gasoline is not ro'uy leachilas kelev and 10% ethanol (or even E85) is not a chometz problem.
BTW Denatured Alcohol as used in many cosmetics and perfumes (also known as "SD Alcohol") is 90% grain ethanol, denatured with methanol and gasoline. All the poskim of the past generation were matir it for Pesach.
Also, putting AvGas in your car will destroy the engine!
