Pictures of the carnage in Boro-Park caused by the storm

Comments:
WHile it's nice to see some unusual words used, please use them well. The dictionary defines CARNAGE as
Pronunciation: \ˈkär-nij\
Function: noun
Etymology: French, from Medieval Latin carnaticum tribute consisting of animals or meat, from Latin carn-, caro
Date: 1614
1 : the flesh of slain animals or men
2 : great and usually bloody slaughter or injury (as in battle)

The damage, while extensive, b"h did not result in bloody slaughter. Kind of like calling the strawberry issue and shidduchim both "crises"!

Finally a normal (newsworthy)post from Chaptzem and you criticize his use of language?

6:01, get a life and find something productive to do with your time.

The use of the term carnage here is the generally accepted usage.

WHICH STREETS ARE THE PHOTOS FROM?9 th ave? 40 th street?

Yep, that's unfortunately pretty nice pictures, thanks for posting it.

Hello, Chaptzem,

Good photos. More powerful than any I saw in the newspapers. Yasher koach.

As a very amateur linguist, I also noted the "carnage" word. My own experience is that the usage of the word is limited to events such as war, mass murder, and natural catastrophe where there is a large bloody loss of human life. Carnage does not mean property destruction.

I enjoy your blog, and keep up the great work!

ISN'T THIS HOW BROOKLYN ALWAYS LOOKS?

Hashem must have been very angry to have visited all that "carnage" on the boro-park yidden. Maybe the married women weren't meticulous enough in the selection of their kosher shaytels. Or perhaps the filters weren't cleaned to sift out the traif unkosher tap water.
Hashem gets very angry at all this stuff. Before he visits Boro-park again, be concientious and make sure that your cholov yisroel dairy products aren't contaminated by plastic jugs that haven't been approved by the appropriate Rav HaMachshir.

The Carnage might be worse next time if you keep going on the internet that was banned by hashem. Please stop doing these sins.
