Police will outnumber feigelech at Pride parade

The Israeli capital Jerusalem is preparing for a gay Pride march this afternoon. Despite violent protest from Orthodox Jewish groups the event will go ahead.

Around 5,000 people are expected to take part, protected by 7,000 police officers.

Earlier in the week 10,000 religious Jews protested and rioted, burning tyres and attacking police cars.

Yesterday the Israeli Supreme Court ruled the parade should go ahead.

Jerusalem Pride has been denounced by conservative Jewish, Christian and Muslim leaders who regard the city as holy.

"The question of 'why in Jerusalem' is not a question. It is the same question as letting women vote," said Dana Olmert, daughter of Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Olmert, a lesbian, in an interview with Israel's Army radio.

In 2005, an Orthodox Jewish protester stabbed and wounded three people at Jerusalem Pride.

Comments:
why are they called 'faigelech'?

Is Miss Cheney attending?

Dana Olmert is an Anti Frum anti Israel, Anti man, Carpet muncher
Shame on the Israel for allowing this to go on in our holy land....The Land God gave to Avraham Yitzchok and Yakkov.
This sickens me to my stomach.

the fact that the parade happend shows that the so called charadi leaders are being paid off to be quiet just like by the disengagement

Dont you think that everybody should respect each other and do not try to impose there views on others. It is a democrocy and not a dicatorship and a must learn to live together in a society and give each other there space and time.

Don't you think that everybody should respect the word of G-d and kill people who act homosexually. After all in as much as G-d created these people he should be the one to dictate who deserves to die. Personal views should NOT be imposed on others. On the other hand, G-d's view should be adheared to.

Shlomo:

No, I don't think we need to respect each other, we only need to tolerate each other. In an American democracy, I can choose to call you a colon cowboy to your face. I imagine you would feel offended. What do you think the people of Jerusalem, arguably the world's most religious city feel when interlopers from out of town come to teach them a lesson.
Why not give the people of Jerusalem their space. Respect is not a right. It is earned.

let these fruitcakes go march in tel aviv or ramat gan or better in gaza these people that say let them march and respect them would understand very well if muslims would not let them march in mecca just frum jews always have to shut up and tolerate everyone that abuses them go with your fruitcakes to gihenom

Thats is the stupidest statement ever! Do you know how much work the Charedei leaders put into trying to stop the parade from happening? Do you read the news about trying to pressure the political people into stopping it and all the protests they organized?
From VIN:
Israel - The Israeli parliament, the Knesset, voted overwhelmingly to pass two bills designed to ban the Pride Parade in Jerusalem scheduled for June 21.
Both bills were introduced by RELIGIOUS parties.
Next time do some research before you post such assanine brainless statements!

LETS HOPE AND DAVEN TO G-D NOT TO PUNISH EVERYBODY FOR THE SIN OF OTHERS. WE ARE DOING OUR PART BY PROTESTING. PLEASE G-D HAVE MERCEY. WITHOUT TORAH WHEN A JEW SLIPS THEY SLIP TO THE WORST. HOW DO YOU EXPLAIN IT TO CHILDREN?????????????????????

We HAVE to protest and not ignore this shameful display of anti Torah. Otherwise we will beguilty for our silence. What's more important to us - our Olam Hazeh or our Olam Haboh? When Rav Yaakov Yosef Herman saw that there was mixed dancing he marched into the hall with a placard saying it was Ossur, so he wouldn't be held responsible in the next world for letting this happen. We also must protest. We can do it respectfully and quietly, without rioting and burning trash etc.

The worst thing someone (who is against these parades) can do is to publicize, talk about it and even protest it, because by doing so, children start asking unwanted questions. And thats the last thing anybody wants right now!

I couldn't agree more. The gedolim also sent their yeshiva bachurim & yungerleit to violently protest & riot. Many were even injured & arrested just to stop this tremendous Chillul Hashem. The gedolim sent them out during the zman to try to stop both parades because stopping the Chillul Hashem is even more important than learning. The only inconsistency is that prior to the Girush of 10,000 Jewish residents from their homes, the desecration of Batei Midrashim & Yeshivos, and the uprooting of Kvarim, these so called "gedolim" signed an Issur forbidding to take part in a non-violent protest during bein hazmanim. The reason was because a Yeshiva Bachur should be learning bein hazmanim & not get involved in political issues. Of course several gedolim also got 60 million Shkolim to supply the votes enabling & supporting the girush.

whats wrong if a few thousand people march....groseh gideleh...why are we giving then attention....why waste time...id open a sefer instead.....
