An open retort letter on the Meshichist issue

Zalman, the Lubavitcher, writes a letter to retort comments on his original letter on the Meshichist issue.

B"H

I would like to make one thing clear. My point was not to ChasVsholom bash baalie teshuvos. On the contrary I stand in awe of the sincere baalie teshuvos who often have to make major personal sacrifices in order to make the transition into the frummeh velt. They are often shunned and mocked by family and friends and they have to change their diet, dress and thought process. They need to make a very awkward transition from what they once were to a person who is now fully shomrie Torah U'mitzvos. It's not easy and I salute them!

On the other hand, the Jew needs to elevate him or her self to the Torah, and NOT that Torah should be lowered to the standards of the Jew. Unfortunately many of these yellow flag people took the most external trappings of Yiddishkiet and Chassidus and shun the real and true part of them. It is much easier to scream, jump and parade then it is to honestly work on your Avodas Hashem by means of true Cheshbon Hanefesh as true Chassidus demands of oneself.

I understand that many of you miss those psychedelic mushroom highs you experienced in India after the army, or the crazy nights dancing like never before in the trance-clubs in Tel Aviv. It must have been terrific. But please don't try to bring this way of life into our lives. Lubavitch has always had a very tolerant attitude toward non-religious Jews and that's a good thing. But remember that you have come into our world and not vice versa.

Lubavitch is based on PNIMIYUS, it is a mehalech which a Yid is expected to strive every day to work on his character and strengthen his kesher with the Echod she b'olom. The warped version seen today practiced by the Yellow Brigade is nothing but a perversion. Many of them mean well but that's not an excuse, and regrettably there are some in their group that are pure evil, these get a twisted satisfaction of destroying hundreds of years of hard work and toil.

Remember it is far easier to destroy then it is to build, for every hundred normal Lubavitcher Chassidim all it takes is one retard to vaporize the good work that they do. And we have more then our fair share of retards.

well said!

But what about all of the frum yidden, in hats andwith peyos, waving the moshaich degel at 770 after minyanim and chanting Yechi ADMO"R?

My dear Zalmen,
you call yourself a lubavitcher but meanwhile you don't know the abc's of lubavitch.
Lubavitch stands for loving other jews inclding "those yellow flags carrriers"
instead of criticizing ANYONE in Lubavitch, why don"t you concentrate on your own avodah and do what the rebbe taught us,
THEY ARE TRYING TO, ARE YOU?
IS THIS WHAT THE REBBE WANTS FROM YOU?

Yashar Koach Zalaman! Now if only some of the leaders of our orginazation could impliment what you wrote so that we see this on the streets we would be in a much better situation.

After being raised in Crown Heights and seeing the terrible influance some of these people are bringing to our community, I picked up my family and left.

Crown Heights no longer offers what it offered to me when I was growing up. There is of course the primary reason that we no longer can look to the Rebbe b'guf gashmi for guidance but for that all we can possibly do is scream with the power of a Chosids krechts Ad Mosei?! A couple of years ago, when I came to the conclusion that our community leaders do not have the courage to get our house back in order, I moved to a new community. BH today, my kids are getting a good chisidesher chinuch and do not need to live through the bickering seen in CH.

With the aibershters help and with the help of the rebbe's brochos we will see CH return to its yomim kekidem and will be a true kidush lubavtich for those of us living in the diaspira.
