BEWARE - Nut-Ola vegetable oil Pesach problem

Be aware that Nut-Ola oil labeled as 100% pure vegetable oil is actually pure cottonseed oil (as per their own listed ingredients, see photo below). Therefore, those that hold that cottonseed oil is kitniyos should refrain from using this oil as well. Furthermore, be aware that the price for vegetable oil is substantially higher than that for cottonseed oil. So if you are paying the vegetable oil price for this, you are over paying. Also, as far as taste goes, cottonseed oil is considered to be inferior to vegetable oil. Lastly, those that are allergic to cottonseed oil should also stay away from this product.

Thanks for posting this. Someone should go to grocery store owners with a copy of this post and inform them.

who says cottonseed oil is kitniyos. "Ksil bachoshech holeich!"

check out Rabbi Blumenkranzs book from last year. Cottonseed oil is Kosher for Pesach...not kitnius.

some hold that there is a "chassash" kitnius

I beleive cottonseed oil is used for Pesach because other vegetable oils ARE kitnios eg. canola (rapeseed, from mustard family) and soy bean. The main problem that I see with cottonseed oil is, that it is not grown as a food crop so it is heavily sprayed with pesticides, so it is not good for your health. I don't think it is any more wrong to call it "vegetable oil" than it is to call soy bean oil "vegetable oil" and it clearly says on the label that it is cottonseed oil.

ALL VEGI OILS ARE FROM COTTONSEED OIL

Guys, from past expirience, NEVER trust CRC.
They do everything for money!
