Satmar case goes to Court of Appeals

The Court of Appeals has just accepted to hear arguments on the Williamsburg Satmar case by R' Ahron Teitelbaum. This new legal development leaves open the possibility of reversing the court's previous ruling that R' Zalman Leib Teitelbaum get the big Shul in Williamsburg. If the appeal goes in R' Ahron's favor he would end up with the big Satmar Shul in Williamsburg and would be the next Satmar Rebbe, thus demoting R' Zalmen Leib and leaving him without any Shul in America, possibly forcing him to move back to Israel to retake his former position there.

Comments:
chaptzem; do you think you could try any harder to stir the part with antagnoistic comments.

Try to be fair and balanced, like me.

HaRav HaGaon Zalman Leib, Shilita will be the leader of the Satmar chasidim that choose him to be Rebbe, A"H longe yorn. You can always put up a building. Tzidkus comes from the inside.
The same goes for his jealous litigious older brother.

See fair and balanced.

"Has 'just' accepted".

So when is 'just', this morning? Cant be, the Appellate bench does not convene on Sunday's. Perhaps on Shabbos? They dont convene then either. Hmm, i guess it must've been on Friday when they decided to hear arguments in the case. And thats 'just'!?!

you are looking for problems anonymous #2. you want chaptzem to be Michalel shabbos and post it as soon as it happened?! and what makes you so sure that they dont convene on saturday?

Can somone ask them to postpone the trial till I´m accepted to the bar?

That way something useful can come out of this.

For your information Anonymous #3, the following article is from FRIDAY'S New York Law Journal. (He didn't have to be Michallel Shabbos).

Satmar Sect Seeks to Appeal Rulings

The Appellate Division, Second Department, last week granted the Kiryas Joel faction of the Satmar Orthodox Jewish sect leave to appeal a pair of decisions to the Court of Appeals. The rulings in Matter of Congregation Yetev Lev D'Satmar, 9716 — 04, left the Williamsburg faction in control of both the sect and its assets, which include a private school system and business and real-estate assets worth hundreds of millions of dollars. The dispute is between the followers of the two sons of Grand Rebbe Moses Teitelbaum, who died last April. Rabbi Zalmen Teitelbaum leads the Williamsburg group and Rabbi Aaron Teitelbaum leads the group in Kiryas Joel, Orange County. The Second Department had ruled in July that the dispute involved determinations of religious doctrine beyond the ken of the courts. The ruling left in tact a determination by the grand rebbe that a 2001 election had put the Williamburg faction in control of the sect. -

vat a bonch of krep der arr nomor rebbes only $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$4

aorn and zalmen were arguing who was really to be the next leader of satmat. zalmen stated " aron what is written on tatty's matzevah? ZL it stands for zalmen lieb. so i am the rebbe." then aron answered " no my little brother tatty is burried in an aron so /i am the the rebbe." there is enough for both of them to go around. maybe one of them should take over crown town too. those guys need help.

I thought it was kessef zahav v'hamamon

They didnt accept anything! The lower court allowed them to appeal. Now the highest sate court must decide whether they wish to hear the case or not. Chances are they wont hear the case and then its all over for R' Aron (at least with reagrds to the $$$)
